About Me
I recently graduated from Stanford University with an MS in mechanical engineering and I’m interested in hands-on engineering applications.
Most recently I was a course assistant in the Stanford Product Realization Lab. I worked with a team to lead over 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students through their design process and taught them the fundamentals of manufacturing in our machine shop, wood shop, foundry, plastics lab, rapid prototyping lab, and welding lab.
In my mind, mechanical engineering is a way of understanding how the world around us works. I am fascinated by trying to understand how everyday things, both simple and complex, are made and how they function. I’m excited to see how I can continue to learn more in my career after Stanford.
Outside of classes, many of my ideas and hobbies are heavily influenced by where I grew up. I’m from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and I grew up hiking, biking, backpacking and skiing around the Teton range. Even though I don’t currently live in the mountains, I still try to get outside whenever I can. I enjoy running, mountain biking, skiing and I am a licensed falconer. In between everything else I like to do ceramics. I’ve found that doing pottery is a great way to take my mind off my work for a few minutes if I don’t have time to get out for a bike ride.
